Adding audio loops to your project

Once you have found an audio loop that you would like to use in your project, the next important step is to add it to your project.

Let's add a loop to the project so we can look at some of the options you have when using loops.

1.	Go to the Browser and select Rock Organ from the Browser Preset list.

2.	In the Search Filter, type in the word medium. Browse and preview some of the loops displayed.

3.	When you find one you like, click on the file and hold the mouse while dragging the file to the audio track named Rock Organ. You should also notice that, as you drag the file, your mouse pointer changes to an arrow with a plus sign. Your screen will look like this:

Chances are you will want the loop to play for more than two or four measures. You don’t have to copy and paste the loop over and over in order to do that. You can easily extend the duration of the loop by pointing the mouse to the clip's center right edge, then drag the clip to “roll it out” to the desired length. When you point the mouse pointer to the right clip edge, a blue vertical line appears and the mouse pointer looks like this .

Tip: The Time Ruler located at the top of the Track view shows time in measures. If you know how many measures you want to have the loop play, simply roll it out to the desired number of measures. For more information, see The Time ruler.
